Cardano’s Lace 2.0 extension has recently been updated to streamline the management of assets for users. This latest version, Lace 2.0.3, addresses various issues such as a blank screen problem that some users encountered during migration or connecting to DApps. It also resolves issues for users with older wallets imported from Nami, ensuring a smoother transition from Lace v1 to v2.

The improvements introduced in Lace 2.0.3 aim to enhance the overall visibility and stability of the DApp connector. Additionally, users can now benefit from faster loading indicators and other enhancements that contribute to a more seamless experience. With Lace 2.0.4, a default view mode has been added, allowing users to easily switch between the sidebar and tabs, with automatic return to the sidebar as needed. The update also includes an auto-lock timer feature in wallet settings to minimize the frequency of password prompts. Moreover, missing Spanish and Japanese translations for certain tabs have been fixed, along with other general improvements.

Furthermore, Cardano is gearing up for an imminent hard fork to transition to protocol version 11. This upgrade, known as the Van Rossem hard fork, will enhance Plutus performance, ledger consistency, and node security. By avoiding a generational shift, Cardano aims to reduce the integration burden while introducing improved primitives, VRF key uniqueness, and updated reference input rules. The hard fork is scheduled to take place later in June 2026, with ongoing preparations and ecosystem readiness progressing steadily.

In anticipation of the hard fork, Cardano Node version 11.0.1 was recently released as a pre-release version to facilitate a secure transition across the upgrade. Meanwhile, the consensus team has been diligently working on the Leios prototype as part of Treasury Funding Program 4. Various bugs in the Leios prototype have been addressed, allowing the System Reliability team to successfully launch the Leios testnet, which is currently operational with the prototype in place.

Overall, these recent developments signify Cardano’s commitment to advancing its platform and enhancing user experience. The continuous updates and preparations for the upcoming hard fork demonstrate Cardano’s dedication to innovation and improvement within the blockchain ecosystem. With Lace 2.0 and the impending protocol upgrade, Cardano continues to solidify its position as a leading player in the world of cryptocurrency.
