Hyperscale Data announced that its subsidiary, Alliance Cloud Services, is finalizing discussions that are set to lead to a master services agreement. This agreement will involve providing colocation and data center services specifically for AI computing at its campus in Michigan. The company, known for its significant Bitcoin mining operations, intends to gradually phase out all Bitcoin mining activities at the Michigan site in order to redirect resources toward more lucrative AI services.

The negotiations with a potential client have progressed towards the finalization of a master services agreement for Alliance Cloud Services (ACS). This agreement is on track to cover approximately 20 MW of capacity and is anticipated to be valued at over $1 billion over a 20-year period. Consequently, the stock of GPUS surged over 24% during pre-market trading. On Stocktwits, sentiment surrounding GPUS remains bearish despite a shift from high to normal chatter about the company.

As the AI services are poised to commence, Hyperscale Data plans to gradually cease all Bitcoin mining at the Michigan location over a span of several months. The focus will shift towards optimizing power capacity for the more profitable AI endeavors. Hyperscale Data’s CEO, Will Horne, has indicated that significant updates for shareholders can be expected in the near future.

Alliance Cloud Services envisions providing roughly 20 MW to one potential customer in the current year and anticipates allocating an additional 32 MW during 2028, which is expected to be absorbed by the same customer. This additional capacity could potentially generate around $1.5 billion over two decades, bringing the total to an estimated $2.5 billion. Despite being a significant amount, this usage would consume only a portion of the campus’s total capacity.

This strategic shift would mark the conclusion of an era for Hyperscale Data, as the company laid the foundation of its early business on its Bitcoin mining operations. However, it will continue to retain Bitcoin as part of its treasury assets. This transition aligns with the broader trend of Bitcoin miners pivoting towards AI infrastructure, leveraging existing resources for more financially rewarding computing activities.

Hyperscale Data currently operates a sizable campus in Michigan, spanning over 617,000 square feet. In addition to its Bitcoin mining operations, the company is progressively transitioning towards high-performance computing and colocation services. Currently supporting around 30 MW, the facility has the potential to accommodate over 300 MW in the future.

With around 709 Bitcoin valued at over $46 million, stored via its subsidiary Sentinum, the company has established a solid footing within the crypto space. This move towards AI infrastructure emphasizes the company’s commitment to adapt to evolving market dynamics and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
