XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) listed in the U.S. have put an end to their 55-day streak of attracting inflows. Since their launch on November 13, 2025, XRP ETFs had been experiencing consistent inflows, outperforming spot Bitcoin and Ethereum funds during the same period. However, on January 7, 2026, XRP ETFs saw an outflow of $40 million, as reported by the onchain analytics platform SoSoValue.

Data from SoSoValue revealed that XRP spot ETFs had been receiving new capital every trading session since their launch until January 6, accumulating net inflows of around $1.62 billion. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse had previously mentioned the strong demand for regulated cryptocurrency investment products like XRP ETFs on December 8, 2025. Following the recent outflow, the total net assets of XRP ETFs stood at $1.53 billion on January 7.

Among the XRP ETFs, 21Shares’ TOXR was the sole fund to experience net outflows, with $47.25 million leaving the fund. In contrast, funds from Canary, Bitwise, and Grayscale saw modest net inflows of approximately $2 million each. BTC Markets crypto analyst Rachael Lucas commented on the notable shift in U.S. spot XRP ETFs experiencing outflows for the first time, although the amount was relatively small at less than 3% of the total inflows since inception. Lucas suggested that profit-taking following XRP’s rapid rise from $1.80 to $2.40, combined with a broader market correction, may have driven the withdrawals.

Despite the outflows, on-chain metrics such as low exchange reserves and increased transaction activity continued to indicate underlying strength in XRP. Lucas added that if inflows were to resume, XRP could potentially make another push towards $3. The recent outflows coincided with heightened whale activity on the XRP Ledger, with large-value transfers surging and $100,000-plus transactions reaching their highest level in nearly three months, a trend that often precedes increased volatility.

At the time of reporting, XRP was trading at $2.12 according to CoinGecko. The article originally appeared in the MARKETS section of TheStreet on January 8, 2026.
